The Biggest Climate Reaction - Reactants, Catalysts, Products and Victims

I did this image to explain how I view the world from an environmental perspective and considering the major players who drive a reaction that is fast moving the world into an almost irreversible state. The actions of the big corporations, politicians, policy makers, developed nations in the midst of conflicts, poverty, disease and ignorance, we face a reaction without  any significant counter reaction to  reverse this global menace.

Ban Ki Moon has again invited world leaders for the UN climate summit in New York to discuss the state of our global environment and climate change and make a binding agreement to reduce emissions and significantly strengthen sustainable political will for a meaningful legal agreement. How successful this year's climate summit depends on sincerity and the willingness to put concrete words into concrete actions and not just the usual wining and dining UN Climate Summits and conferences. The US government has already provided a working plan of action to reduce carbon pollution. China has agreed to impose carbon target by 2016. These are interesting developments from the biggest polluters in the world, but the world waits to see more action than words.

Interestingly, two days to the UN Climate Summit, the biggest march in history will take place in New York where more than 800 groups including green advocates, students, small and big environmental organizations and minority groups from across the world converge to challenge world leaders to make legal commitments.

After the week of September 21, we shall see how reversible, with global efforts, this biggest ongoing reaction can be. The victims of climate change have no borders!

One of My Moments in Academia

I remember in 2009 one of my first blog posts  for Ceasefire Liberia , which highlighted the struggles science students went through at the  University of Liberia  carried this photo which clearly explained the academic status quo at the University of Liberia by then.  This photo has not only made me believe in myself and my ability to become a chemist, but also motivated my entire academic life. it's like a force that pushes me every moment of my academic life. In it I always see courage, determination, strength to overcome, enthusiasm, challenge, and most of all, a blessed child destined for success. The required tools of the trade were always unavailable, but I remained steadfast.  Well, a full account of my academic life has just begun and by the grace of God, w...
